Hello everyone! I apologize for being M.I.A....I was busy studying for finals and the day after summer school was done I started back at my old job! It has been a busy week, but I am finally adjusted to my new routine.
Since Clint and I's engagement party is this month we decided that the month of July would be our "month of healthy". Since our party requires everyone to be in swim suits and we want to look our very best, we started a clense diet that was made for the workers at General Motors. It isn't like that other popular clense diet where are you drink is water, maple syrup and pepper (yuck!). This clense allows you to eat food and as much of it as you want. The catch is on certain days you can only eat a certain type of food.
The night before we were to begin this GM clense I celebrated the end of summer school by going to Outback Steakhouse with Hillary, Maverick and Hillary's mom!
I ordered the Filet Focaccia Sandwich which is a sliced filet, melted Provolone cheese and garlic herb aioli on toasted bread. Served with a side of au jus for dipping. I ordered steamed veggies on the side and it was amazing!
Hillary's mom also picked a great choice for dinner, she ordered the Filet Wedge salad which is a sliced filet with a cool, crisp wedge of fresh Iceberg lettuce, Blue Cheese dressing, red onions, bacon and Blue Cheese crumbles, drizzled with a balsamic dressing.
Look how cute of a couple Hillary and Maverick are :)
Clint was at work so my date was Hillary's mom ;) I couldn't of asked for a better meal to end the month of June on! The next day we started our clense! If any of you are interested in trying it here is all you have to do:
General Motors Clense Program
Day 1: Eat all fruits except bananas. Your first day will consist of all the fruits you want. It is strongly suggested that you consume lots of melons the first day. Especially watermelon and cantaloupe. If you limit your fruit consumption to melons, your chances of losing three pounds on the first day are very good.
Clint and I bought large containers to store our food in so we could take them to work. Here is what our day one fruit variety looked like. Clint piled his container with watermelon and cantaloupe while I packed mine with grapes, pineapple, strawberries and some watermelon.
Isn't fruit so bright and beautiful? I LOVE it! Day one wasn't too hard because I love fruit, but it definitely got harder as the days progressed.
Day 2 : All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the amount or type. For your complex carbohydrate, you will start day two with a large baked potato for breakfast. You may top the potato with one pat of butter.
Day 3 : A mixture of fruit and vegetables of your choice. Any amount and any quantity. No bananas or potatos today.
Day 4 : Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as 8 bananas and drink three glasses of milk. This will be combined with the special soup which may be eaten in limited quantities.
SPECIAL SOUP-- 28 oz water, 6 large onions, 2 green peppers, 3 whole tomatoes (fresh or canned), 1 head of cabbage, 1 bunch celery, 4 envelopes Lipton Onion Soup Mix, herbs and flavoring as desired.
Day 5: You will eat beef and tomatoes. Eat two 10 oz. portions of lean beef (hamburger is okay). Combine this with 6 whole tomatoes. Drink lots of water today especially! This is to clense your system of the uric acid you will be producing.
Day 6 : Beef and vegetables. Unlimited amount.
Day 7 : Today your food intake will consist of brown rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.
While on this clense you are also supposed to be drinking 10 glasses of water a day.
Clint and I are on day 4 and just made the special soup for dinner! He says its tasty so I am about to go see for myself:)
